The chapter begins by highlighting how the gap between career counseling theories and reality has contributed to the emergence of the Life Designing Paradigm. In the second section, considerations are given to some topics which are currently debated in light of the new Life Designing Paradigm, with its relationship with counseling activity being presented. An approach to the process of counseling according to Life Designing perspectives and the importance of the analysis of practices for the continuous update and innovation of this framework for counseling follows. Finally, a research into the practice of career counseling and a case study that illustrates the practical contribution to the Life Designing framework to counseling is discussed.
